Visit Sweden has a mandate from the Swedish government to market Sweden as a destination for tourists. Consequently, the organisation promotes Sweden as a travel destination all year round. Visit Sweden markets; collaborates with regions, tour operators, and destinations; and inspires international media, press, and influencers. One aim is to strengthen Sweden’s brand as a destination, while another is to furnish the Swedish tourism industry with knowledge about the travellers and target groups most likely to visit the country. Visit Sweden is represented in a number of countries that have been identified as being of particular importance to tourism. 

 

Assignment

In connection with an organisational change within its HR function, Visit Sweden chose to outsource its HR function rather than hiring a permanent HR manager.

 

Solutions & Results

The assignment is carried out a few fixed days per week by an internal HR team at Sweden HR group – which is led by an internal project manager who ensures the right skills for each task. Visit Sweden has access to the entire Sweden HR group’s human capital and is given the function of an entire HR department.

The focus has been on both strategic organizational development projects, where we both led and executed:

-Restructuring and skills exchange, ie. reskill and uppskill
• Leadership development and management training
• Goal management / performance management

• New process for the recruitment process and onboarding
• Support in goal management and salary revision process
• Job evaluation and salary mapping
• Further development of policies and routines within the HR area
• Routines for systematic work environment work
